The Mission of Alliance For Kids, Inc. is to provide innovative programs and resources to enhance Child Life services for hospitalized pediatric patients and their families.
Alliance For Kids is a 501©(3) a national nonprofit organization. We started in 2011 when our founder, Child Life Specialist, Jane Miller saw that parents of hospitalized children needed more resources. She started to create a resource database called RESCUE on common childhood diseases and illnesses that would be a resource for families before, during and after their hospital experience. This helped tremendously but Jane still wanted to do more and also wanted to support her program of the Child Life Specialists, their patients and families.
All of our programs are aimed at making the hospital less scary and manageable for kids and their families. Childhood illnesses are often traumatic for children. We aim to make their hospital stay the easiest it can be. Alliance For Kids was founded by a Child Life Specialist and built for Child Life Specialists patients and their families. We are so proud of where we came from and so excited to see what new technology we can use for helping hospitalized kids cope.
